Reesee Pup

After much discussion, Jeremy and I decided to go ahead with our original plan and get Finn a dog for her 2nd birthday. We discussed breeds and decided on a boxer. As most everyone knows, her birthday isn't until the end of May. So why do we now have a new puppy? Because I am a weak Mommy. Seeing Finn playing with a litter of ready to go puppies and we had to have one. Reesee Pup, who is so named because she the color of peanut butter and chocolate, has joined our clan.

I hope you dance....

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

Surprise Packages!

On Friday, Finley and Chloe received a surprise in the mail. In the box were new baby dolls for Finn, a stuffed elephant for Chloe, bracelets for both, and the adorable red t-shirts you see above. Finn had a really good time throwing the packing peanuts on the ground as she searched for more treasure.

Chloe also received another package in the mail this week, a whole bunch of Bummis diaper covers. A very generous person sent them to her so that her tiny tush could be cloth diapered in style. We have been doing cloth diapering on a very limited basis because we only had two covers. There is no real reason for me trying cloth, and there is no real reason not to give it a whirl. So far so good!

Chloe is 4 months old!

Chloe turned 4 months old yesterday and we had her checkup at the doctor's today. She is growing well and hitting all her milestones of smiling, cooing, laughing and grabbing objects. Her weight is 13lbs 13oz and she is 23 1/2 in long. He gave us the go ahead for starting baby food which we will do sometime in the next month or so. We are very happy that both our girls continue to be healthy and happy.

My Fing-uhs! My Fing-uhs!

Jeremy and I were standing in the office this morning when we heard Finley screaming in the kitchen. Over and over she was saying "My fing-uhs! My fing-uhs!" Louder and more emphatically each time. As we go around the corner we see that something has definitely gotten her fingers. She found a roll of Scotch tape and stuck all her fingers together. I had a hard time removing it because I was laughing too hard. So for anyone who wants to get a good laugh out of the day, give a toddler Scotch tape.
