Decorating the Tree

We only got the lights on tonight but I thought I would share pics of the fun. Both girls loved helping Daddy tangle, I mean, untangle the strands of pretty lights. Maybe by tomorrow night the ornaments will be on the tree. That is if Chloe will leave them alone.

The Only Pics From Thanksgiving

Here is Chloe in my old high chair.

I almost forgot....

Yes I know I have posted several updates tonight but funny Finn story coming....

This morning she brought a plastic cup with a pretend red pepper in it and said "Here Mommy, here is your Dr Pepper drink."

****************************************************

Finn also refers to the dust particles you can see in the streams of sun through the windows as "shinys". She will jump around and clap her hands together, screaming "It's the shinys, catch them."

**********************************************************************

Upon seeing the vacuum cleaner come out of hiding, she yelled, "The Backyoom cleaner, Run for your life."

**********************************************************************

Chloe can now nod her head "yes or no" depending on the question, points to things when asked, and came very close to saying Reesee the other day. I am so proud.

An Artist in the Making

I believe that Finn is developing her artistic side. Most of her drawings are questionable but she has surprised me a time or two. The first one she did a few weeks back and the one on the Doodlepro was from this weekend. Am I crazy or does she have talent?

She said this was a mermaid.....

She said this was a koala bear.

Raising Arizona at My House

Raising Arizona is one of those movies that will always be shown on TV at least once a year. One of the funniest and most repeated quotes, at least in this house, is "Son you've got a panty on your head." So when the following incident was done to Chloe by Finn, I couldn't help but say over and over in my head, "Hon, you've got a panti(liner) on your head."

***********and if you haven't guessed by now, I have no shame when it comes to posting the wacky stuff my kids get in to and/or do*************************

For Kate!

Like Mother Like Daughter

There is an oft repeated story in my household from my growing up years. It goes like this, "Do you remember when you ate...?" The answer is always yes, I do, as much as I can. I ate an entire bottle of baby aspirin, give or take a few, and got a wonderful trip to the emergency room out of the deal. I don't remember that part. What I do remember is saying I had a headache, being denied aspirin by my mother, climbing on the counter, retrieving them, and having a pill popping party in the hallway. On my back with my legs crossed over one another and swinging my foot. It was a great time, really, and my head did quit hurting.

Fast forward to today. Very few medicines are in non- child- proof containers so you think you would be safe. Au contraire, my little pet. Not when you have Finn the drug seeker in your house. She has been gnawing on her hands and drooling very attractively for days which are sure signs of new teeth. I bought a fresh bottle of teething tablets recently and have dispensed a few here and there over the last couple weeks. At most, I have used 20- 25 tablets. Out of a bottle of 250, we have 196 left. Yes I counted them after she came down the hall with the open bottle and said "I get teethy medicine Mommy. I feel better." Just so you know they were mostly out of reach and she did have to use her stool to get them. No longer are they in an accessible area and more childproofing will be done very soon.

Where are all my pictures?

Being the youngest child in the family, I always wondered why there were so many fewer pictures of me growing up. I vowed Chloe would not suffer the same fate. But guess what? The best of intentions and all that stuff. Finley has about 6 photo albums full of pictures. Each album holds approximately 200 pictures. Chloe has 2 albums full at the moment and about half of the pictures in those albums also have Finn in them. I have a lot of catching up to do. So yesterday I took Chloe out for a photo shoot in the yard. I hope you enjoy the results.

Alice Can Read!

Earlier today, I heard Finley talking in the playroom. I really couldn't understand who she was having a conversation with and what they were talking about. She came to find me a few seconds later and said, "The dog is sittin' in the chair and readin' a book." She then told me I had to come and see. The above pictures are what I found.

When I said I wanted to take Alice's picture because it was so cute, Finn seemed happy. I knelt down and got ready to push the button. Finley put her head on my shoulder and said, "Alice, look at me, say Blaahhhh!" I laughed out loud and took the most beautiful picture of Alice saying "Blaahhh" instead of cheese.

Halloween Night!

Here are just a few pics of the girls last night. We went to 2 carnivals and did a little Trick or Treating. Finn loved getting the free candy.
