Chloe Chooses

interesting outfits sometimes. She came out of the playroom wearing a cheerleader skirt as a top and a Santa hat. For the next 20 minutes as I tried to take a picture she ran from me and giggled. We did laps through the house and I enjoyed every second of it.

Smore Powder Please!

The last hour and a half have been hilarious. I was cooking dinner and Dad was on kid duty. I was also on the phone with April when I heard a noise coming from the back of the house. Since everyone was supposed to be in the living room, I wasn't to sure of what could be laughing in our bedroom. I went in the bedroom and peered cautiously into the bathroom. I saw this:

This is the second time in the three years we have been parents that a child under Daddy's watchful eye has slipped off and played with powder. Shall we re-visit April 2007? You think we would have all learned a lesson the first time. After Chloe had a tubby we had a delicious dinner of "mmmm, mmmm, bubble up pizza". Both girls ate well and I decided to offer them a very special dessert--almost smores. I skipped the marshmallow and simply melted a small piece of Hershey's chocolate between two graham crackers. Upon tasting it, Finley declared it "the best dessert she ever had" and said that "Mommy you a champion" for making such a treat.

Bowling and Blueberries

Today we had a magical day. Okay the first 15 minutes was magical, the rest just pretty good. We started off with a trip to the bowling alley with some kids from Finn's Mother's Day Out church. Note to everyone: Finley and Chloe are not great bowlers. What they can do exceptionally well, roll around on the floor of the bowling alley. At least it was mostly clean.

Finn upset that she did not get a strike

After we finished bowling and we made it through 6 whole frames, we headed out to Aunt Faye's for some blueberry picking. Both girls love blueblerries so we did not expect to make it home with a whole lot but we did thanks to the tall one. Jeremy is a quick and relentless berry picker.

Berry picking was very very hot so we decided to end the day with an ice cream run on the way home. I highly recommend the Thin Mint Blizzards at Dairy Queen. Yummy!

Oh Atlanta

Teaching Chloe Tricks

Finn's New Trick

For all my regular blog checkers.....

Yes I do know I just recycled my Father's Day Post but hey I've been busy. Cut a girl some slack, every post can't be new and exciting. That is a lot of pressure! It gets to people and sometimes they don't update for eight days (denmark, I'm looking at you). So I'm off to enjoy the lazy days of summer and the peace and quiet that has finally descended on my house. TTFN!!!!!

FFF- Daddy and his girls!

Swimming and Sno-cones!

Finley had her last swimming lesson today at the Y. Throughout the 2 weeks, she has floated between attentive student to over zealous maniac. All in all, it was a positive experience that taught her one or two things about the water. Last Friday she actually jumped off the diving board--today she freaked and had to be dropped in the water.

Swimming after being dropped in the pool

Panic sets in as she works her way to the side

A little mad about the whole thing

Safe on the side now

She found her ring, hooray!

Drying off after it was over

She passed, we are so proud!

Celebrating with sno-cones--delicious!

The Week in Review

We have had a very busy week here in our house. We are still in the midst of swimming lessons and renovations, so every waking moment is full. Here are a few pics of what we have been doing.

Chloe sleeping on the couch with Grandaddy--apparently, the old softie could not leave her fussing in her crib at nap time, so he got her up and they napped together.

Finley had her very first trip to the dentist and it went very well. No cavities or major problems and she had a great time. A few plastic prizes, a coloring book, and a sparkly princess toothbrush and she was in kid heaven.

Finley and Grandaddy snuggling together. He has spent a lot of time on the couch entertaining the girls with book after book after book. He now hates this one and I can't say I blame him.

Chloe drying off and warming up after a late afternoon swim

In the house, classic films like The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh are best enjoyed sitting in a dog crate. I am not real sure why Finn thinks it is the best seat in the house but at least I did not lock the door. Gotta get some parenting points for that one right?

Although the detail is a little hard to see, this Chloe snapshot is for Tee Tee. Your crazy, hyperactive morbidly obese dog Hayley knocked sweet as sugar Chloe down and left her with a bruise. For shame!

FFF- BLOOPERS!

Alright, the theme this week is bloopers and well I got a lot of them. Why oh why do my angels like to ruin a beautiful picture with a face like this one?

or this gem?

If I get time, I will come back and add a few more but for now this will do. And for anyone who checks in with me today and isn't a FFF participant, join here now. Post some crazy blooper pics and start laughing.

From tears to laughter

see above video for the reason for the tears in the first place

Say What?

The last few nights Finley has had lots of trouble going to bed. She has been exhausted yet cannot settle down to sleep. There have been tears, screaming, whining, and lots of aggravation for all of us. Since the girls share a room, we can only let screaming go on for so long. So tonight as Finn's cries of "Daddy" got progressively louder he decided to see what she needed. He opens the door and she says, "Daddy did you know Coco could say uh-oh?"

Summer Party

Today we attended Jeremy's summer work party. There were relay races, water balloons, a pinata, and prizes for everyone. There was also a playground and a beautiful pier overlooking the water. We might have been able to enjoy all of the festivities if it had not been so bleepin hot. If this is how summer is going to be, I might need to buy stock in Coppertone.

Waiting for the egg relay race to start--a 3-yr-old, a plastic spoon, and a real egg,can you see where this is headed? That's right, Finley took about 4 steps, dropped her egg (but it didn't break this time) and then took about 4 more after replacing her egg on the spoon only to have it end like this:

But in the end it was all okay because they had prizes for everybody!!!! We are now the proud owners of a pink jump rope and more bubbles.

Then Finley decided to organize the water balloons for the parent filling them up. Isn't she doing a great job?

Where should I throw this one?

I'm just happy to have a balloon even if it isn't full of water.

The last "fun" thing of the day was a candy filled pinata. Finley and Chloe each got a turn to hit it and managed (with another child's help) to get a big enough hole in it to each get a ring pop. I think they loved them don't you?

After the sugar kicked in, Finley started dancing. Due to the fact that she was wearing Crocs and there was sand on the concrete floor, she fell and scraped both her knees. It wasn't that bad but it did hurt so we decided it was time to go. It was a little after 3, everyone was hot and the girls had not had a nap at all. I am surprised they were not comatose by this point. We made it home in time to do dinner and a bath, then we put two very tired little girls in the bed. We are off to go swimming tomorrow so I am sure more pics will be a coming.
