Reesee--Solitary Confinement or Execution???

This is what I found when I went outside to bring Reesee in for the night. This is what is left of $45 dollars of topsoil that was supposed to be put in our vegetable garden. Right now I am trying to decide on an appropriate punishment. Hayley's mommy suggested leniency but this is not her first offense. I am thinking solitary for at least a little while.

FFF- The Eyes Have It!

This week it is all about the eyes. Anybody who has visited here or ever seen my girls in real life know they have some gorgeous blue eyes which I love. Finley's picture is from last summer but is one of my all time favorite picture of her. Chloe's is from last month when she finally got the chance to feed herself yogurt.

Finley's eyes- full of deep concentration, investigation, and need to make people happy and laugh

Chloe's eyes- giggly, spunky, and a daredevil troublemaker

Rescuing Elephants in this Outfit?

I am not sure this is classified as appropriate rescue attire but Finley thought it was smashing. What you cannot see in the pictures are her beautiful pink flip flops which completed the ensemble.

Easter Sunday

Today was a happy and sad day here at the Scott House. Happy because it is Easter and that crazy bunny was really generous. Sad because Granddaddy and Hayley had to go back home. Poor Reesee is so heart-broken that her playmate is gone. She cannot even muster the energy to play, she is sleeping off her grief. Hopefully after naps everyone will perk up and get through this trying day.

Disney Day 4- Animal Kingdom

Our day at Animal Kingdom started with Chloe vomiting in the car before we ever got out of the hotel parking lot. Nice, very nice! After a dash back up stairs for clean up we headed back out. I had a feeling our day would be short-lived but since we had already bought tickets I didn't want to stay at the hotel. (btw, she was running no fever and acting fine, so I wasn't sure if it was a virus or just something that did not agree with her tummy) We managed to make it to the park but were too late to do the safari ride before the Lion King show. So we grabbed fast passes (love those things) for later and saw the Lion King show. Finn covered her eyes a few times but enjoyed it overall. Then we ate an early lunch--did I mention we skipped breakfast-- because we were all starving. Chloe held down her lunch without a problem so I thought we were in the clear. Then, Jeremy, Finn and I went on the safari ride. My parents and sister kept Chloe because their fast passes were for a little later. The safari ride was so cool and Finn is still talking about the giraffe she saw. After that ride, it was off to kill time while we waited for the Nemo show. A short visit in Dinoland and popsicles later we were seated in the auditorium waiting for the show. Finley wanted to see Crush most of all but fell asleep before he appeared on stage. I loved this show. Then we timed things just so, and with the help of the rest of our group, had front row seats for the parade. Chloe stopped and hugged every character she could get the attention of and almost did not let loose of Pluto. Exhausted, hot and cranky we headed back to the hotel. Jeremy and I were supposed to see the shuttle launch but we opted out at the last minute. Lots of things factored into our decision and boy was it a wise one. We had time to take the girls for a quick dip in the pool, eat dinner, and catch some zzzzz's before Finn started vomiting in her sleep. Yep, Chloe actually had a slight stomach virus which she thoughtfully shared with her sister. Nothing like shoving a hotel ice bucket in your kid's face in a sleepy stupor and hoping they actually hit it. It also made for a very very very long car ride home. Thank goodness I had packed a "plat bucket".

FFF- Spring Fever

We have definitely had our fair share of spring fever this year and even used it as an excuse to escape further south. We loved the warm(er) weather and all the fun. So the Disney posts below are this week's FFF for me. I will be adding more tonight or this weekend.

Disney Day 3-- Magic Kingdom

We were up early to make sure we were walking in the park at 9 AM. Coupled with the unlucky coincidence of going on "spring forward" day we were tired before we even left. I was determined, though, to get to a head start on the popular rides like Dumbo. We had reservations for breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends at 10:30 meaning we needed to check in before that. So we hit the park running and made it to Dumbo and there was no real line. What??? We rode that and hopped off and headed to the Winnie the Pooh ride. It had been suggested to try and fast pass it for after breakfast but there was no one in line. So we walked right on to it. Then we had time so we rode Dumbo again. The line was longer but still manageable. I really couldn't believe our luck. Then it was off to our over-priced breakfast at Crystal Palace.

After breakfast we headed to ToonTown. It was a madhouse. Jeremy said it had bad mojo. We did not have fun there although Finn did get to ride the Barnstormer with April. I cannot remember for sure but at some point we caught Storytime with Belle. After that we headed to Tomorrowland and took in the Monsters Inc show and the Buzz Lightyear ride. Then it was off to Frontierland for the parade.

As you can tell, Finn was overjoyed to see the parade was about to start.

Getting a kiss from Prince Charming during the parade. Chloe loved the parade as well. We managed to squeeze in a trip to Adventureland for Aladdin's Magic Carpets and the Jungle Cruise. At this point we were spent and headed home. We did not see the nighttime parade or the fireworks but we will see them next time. All in all it was a magical day in the happiest place on Earth.

Disney Trip Days 1 & 2

Day 1- Travel day but it is noteworthy because we (meaning Jeremy) drove through a whopper of a thunderstorm in Florida. We saw several multi-car chain reaction wrecks and maybe even a tornado. Well, it really was a tree but to tired, stressed eyes without glasses on, mistakes happen. We arrived at the hotel and were so relieved. It was truly a welcoming, beautiful place. There were two macaws in the lobby that you could stop and watch. They sat all day on these little posts without being caged. The girls enjoyed looking for them as we walked through the lobby many times a day.

Day 2- Downtown Disney and Disney Boardwalk

We got up and going Saturday morning and headed to Downtown Disney for some pre-theme park shopping. Both girls ran all over stretching their legs after Friday's long car trip. The weather was sunny but cool because of the wind.

After a hour or two we headed to the Disney Boardwalk area. This was one place I wanted to see. Tucked behind the Boardwalk Inn is a beautiful little spot fashioned after a 1930's Atlantic coastal village. There are a few shops, some food places, but for this day it was mostly deserted. The girls had such a great time chasing sea gulls and each other. We did not stay that long, but knowing we would be surrounded by people the next few days at the parks, it was nice to be alone.

After this, we headed back to the hotel for naps and rest. At 5 pm, we went to a reception for the Space Flight Awareness Honorees. Finn and Chloe did not think the 30-40 speeches extolling the virtues of each honoree (of which my Mom was one) was a great way to spend a Saturday night. Some of the more humorous things said by Finn were "Oooh, we at a par--teee" and "I see super letters". She also sang a rousing rendition of Cha Cha Cha Cha Coconut Trees from Go Diego Go live show. They were removed and all was well.
